Nicolae Grigorescu exhibition
Romanian culture is also represented at Brussels’ Hotel de Ville, which is hosting the exhibition “L’Age de l’Impressionisme en Roumanie. Nicolae Grigorescu (1838-1907)”, the National Museum of Art of Romania (MNAR) informs. The exhibition presents, in the elegant halls of the Belgian capital’s old Town Hall, 72 paintings and 20 works of graphics from the MNAR collection, which cover all the stages in the artist’s body of work. Alongside the exhibition “Nicolae Grigorescu (1838-1907) – Itineraire d’un peintre roumain de l’ecole de Barbizon a l’impressionisme”, organized in 2006 in France, the event is meant to integrate Grigorescu’s work in the European artistic circuit.
