President Traian Basescu will visit Berlin on November 10. The announcement was made on Wednesday evening by Germany’s Foreign Affairs Minister Guido Westerwelle during the meeting he had with Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi. “The Romanian President’s visit will take place on November 10, in Berlin, and we will continue the talks (that started now – editor’s note). Our countries are linked in a very active process on a political, economic, social and cultural level and we are feeling this at all levels,” Westerwelle stated, being quoted by realitatea.net, adding that Romania is “an important partner” for Germany in European politics. In this context he reminded that he talked with his Romanian counterpart about the Republic of Moldova and Transdniester. “The Belarus theme is a joint theme for us,” Westerwelle stated, underlining the Eastern Partnership’s importance not just for Romania but for Germany too, being a priority for her.
