The local leaders of the Buzau branch of the People’s Party – Dan Diaconescu (PPDD) announced Saturday that the county branch voluntarily chose to disband itself, following a conflict with the central leaders of the party, Realitatea.net reports. The leaders of PPDD Buzau said that, two weeks ago, they attended a meeting in Busteni where they were asked to collect a big sum of money for the electoral campaign. According to sources that participated in the meeting, Dan Diaconescu allegedly told them that, “if a regular party gives a bag in campaign, we must give two bags.” The Buzau leaders say they feel betrayed and they cannot possibly raise such money. After the announcement about disbanding the local branch, the ex-members burned the posters printed with the party logo. Referring to a past statement of Greater Romania Party leader Corneliu Vadim Tudor, a member of the PPDD Buzau branch said, while he was burning a poster: “Vadim Tudor was right when he said that this is a party created following an order,” Realitatea informs.
