Journalist Anna Politkovskaya commemorated in Bucharest

Five years after her assassination, Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya will be commemorated in Bucharest during the event titled “A month with Anna,” an event that includes film screenings, public lectures and round tables, the Meteor Press Publishing House, the event’s organizer, announced. The documentary film ‘Letter to Anna’ (2008, directed by Eric Bergkraut) will be shown on the screen within the ‘Horia Bernea’ Studio at the Romanian Peasant’s National Museum on Tuesday, October 11, at 6 PM. The Bucharest University’s Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences will host an open lecture presented by Professor Lavinia Barlogeanu on October 19 at noon. On October 27 at 6.30 PM, the Peasant’s Club will organize an evening of reading and free talks on Anna Politovskaya’s books: A Dirty War, Putin’s Russia, A Russian Diary, Nothing But the Truth.
