The production “Attenberg”, signed by Greek director Athina Rachel Tsangari, won on Saturday night the Best Film Award in the seventh edition of the Romanian International Film Festival RO-IFF. The film will also be Greece’s representative in the next edition of the Oscars. The Best Director trophy, in the CineBlackSea section, went to “40”, directed by Emre Sahin, which tells the tale of three foreigners hunting for a briefcase filled with money in a city with 12 million inhabitants. The best woman director, this year’s winner in the Woman in Cinema section is Celine Sciamma for “Tomboy”. The Best Performance Award went to actress Zrinka Cvitesic for her brilliant portrayal of a Muslim woman who is trying to save her marriage without trespassing religious traditions, in the film “On the Path”. A special mention by the jury was awarded to 10-year-old actress Zoe Heran for her performance as ‘Laure’/’Michael’ in “Tomboy”.
