ANAF reimburses VAT worth RON 1.61 bln

The National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) will reimburse in October all VAT rebates for which requests were filed prior to September 2, Mediafax informs. The total sum stands at RON 1.61 bln, of which RON 363 M represents compensations, the institution announced.  Pieter Wessel, Deloitte Romania’s tax partner, stated last week that some companies can no longer continue their activity because the state failed to reimburse their VAT, this situation having negative effects on the foreign investors’ perceptions too. ANAF will reimburse RON 1.25 bln in cash, and will offer partial reimbursements of over RON 100 M. Likewise, the fully paid VAT reimbursements will total RON 258.8 M. RON 142.5 M will be reimbursed in the following period.
