Turnover from online payment e-trade rose by 11 pc in the first nine months of 2011 compared to the same interval of 2010, to EUR 121.4 M, according to Romcard figures, quoted by the ePayment electronic solutions provider. 89 pc of total online payments were processed, namely, EUR 106.7 M, rising by 13 pc. Another trend reported in the e-trade sector is the diversification of the shopping basket. Romcard and ePayment maintain their forecasts concerning a rise of the online payment electronic trade market to EUR 160 M by the end of the year. The market is estimated to rise next year as well, backed mainly by new products, services and promotion campaigns, meant to draw online buyers, according to ePayment. In 2010 ePayment processed over 2 M transactions, worth EUR 121 M, accounting for 90 pc of Romcard’s total turnover.
