Prometheus Awards Gala on October 19

The tenth edition of the Prometheus Awards for Opera Omnia and Opera Prima Gala will take place on October 19, starting 7pm, at the Prometheus Club. The awards handed out every year by the Anonimul Foundation acknowledge distinguished Romanian artists from the fields of literature, music, visual arts and performing art. This year’s jury is made up of Andrei Plesu (president), Eugen Negrici (literature), Dan Dediu (music), Ruxandra Demetrescu (visual arts) and Ion Caramitru (performing arts). The finalists for the Opera Omnia award are Paul Cornea, in the literature category, Cristian Mandeal – music, Sorin Ilfoveanu – visual arts and Horatiu Malaele – performing arts. A special Opera Prima prize is also awarded and, in this section, the finalists are Val Chimic (Valentina Chirita) in the literature category, Mihai Rivitoiu – music, Alexandru Niculescu – visual arts and Marian Crisan – performing arts. The Opera Omnia prize is worth RON 100,000, while the Opera Prima is worth RON 10,000.
