Finnish speaker criticizes Gov’t for obstructing Romania’s accession to Schengen

Eero Heinaluoma, the speaker of the Finnish Parliament, on Saturday criticized Finland’s government for hindering Romania’s and Bulgaria’s access to the Schengen area, Mediafax reports, citing the online page of television station YLE. According to the source quoted, Heinaluoma maintained that Finland’s tough stand on Romania’s and Bulgaria’s accession to Schen­gen creates an unfavorable image to Finland. He nonetheless criticized Finland’s stance on the issue, saying that Romania has met the Schengen accession criteria.
