Romania, 17th in the EU based on the number of car registrations

The Romanian auto market stagnated on the 17th place in the EU based on the number of new vehicle registrations in the first nine months of the year, when it dropped 7.8 pc to 57,455 units, according to data released yesterday by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). In September, the indicator went up 23 pc year-on-year, to 8,435 vehicles. After the first nine months of last year, the Romanian car market was on the same 17th position in the EU based on new registrations, and ended 2010 on the 18th place. In the European Union, the number of new automobile registrations dropped by 1.1 pc in the first nine months, to 10.122 million units, but advanced by 0.7 pc in September to 1.232 million.
