Ex miners’ leader launches new party

Former miners’ leader Miron Cozma launched the Social Democrat Workers Party on Friday in Targu Jiu, the event being attended by party leadership representatives and sympathizers, Mediafax informs. Cozma pointed out that the party is working legally. He presented the members of the party’s leadership, pointing out that among them there is also a representative of the Victims of the Miners’ Riots Asso­ciation. Cozma pointed out that his party represents a real chance for workers in this country. The former miners’ leader also announced he will run for Presi­dent. “There are a lot of Romanians that have pinned their hopes on me. I gave years of my life for the sake of the people,” Cozma said on Friday.
