Starting today, until Sunday, Sibiu will be hosting the eleventh edition of the Astra Film Festival, the oldest international documentary film festival in Romania and the largest of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, which will bring together 100 documentaries from 30 countries. Alongside documentary film screenings, this year’s edition will include photography exhibitions, concerts, workshops and, a premiere, a series of master classes delivered by some of the world’s finest documentary film producers and directors. The Romanian Cultural Institute, a special partner of the manifestation, will be awarded the Astra Film Trophy. The first screening of the documentary “Noi Doi” (You and Me), which addresses the situation of sexual minorities in Romania, will take place tomorrow, starting 3.30pm, in the John Marshall Hall. The film will be presented once again on Thursday, October 27, starting 8pm, in the Studio Hall.
