BILLA Romania – 12 years on the local market

In 1999, BILLA opened the first store in Bucharest. In its 12 years on the Romanian market, the brand rapidly developed to 57 stores throughout the country, thus becoming one of the foremost employers, which currently offers more than 3,500 jobs at country scale.

Ever since it came to Romania, BILLA focused on respecting the main values of the brand: the high quality of the products and services it provides, low prices, and the diversity of products.

In each BILLA store throughout the country, customers can enjoy special departments with a wide range of carefully selected products. These include the department of fresh fruits and vegetables, delivered to the store on a daily basis, or the department of meat, and meat products, cut and packed by the store’s own butchers. Furthermore, the delicacies department greets BILLA customers with a wide range of products, from hot food to the finest types of cheese, salamis, salads, fish meals, or small appetizers. Plus, the baked goods department entices customers with exquisite kinds of bread and bakery products: fresh rolls, croissants or baguettes, just out of the oven!

The company has its own brand – Clever, one of the best known and appreciated own brands in Romania. Clever covers all the products needed on a daily basis, from dairy and basic foodstuffs to drinks and sweets, or cleaning products and housewares.

Moreover, those who choose to do their shopping at BILLA may profit from the permanent price cut promotion programme, named ‘De 3X Mai Ieftin’ (3X Cheaper), which offers three types of benefits on purchase: ‘Pret Minimal’ (Minimal Price), which includes all the products ranging within the own brands Clever (over 300 food goods and household items) and My (some 40 cosmetic items), Billa Plus, which offers smaller prices when purchasing several products of the same kind, and Promotii (Promotions) that comprises a diversified range of products, different each week.
