Bercea Mondial considers himself a “political detainee”

The Craiova Court of Appeals decided yesterday that Sandu Anghel, also known as Bercea Mondial, will be investigated under arrest, thus rejecting the appeal he filed in the case in which he is accused of stabbing one of his nephews. During the hearings, Bercea complained that he is a political detainee because he is “related to Basescu.” “There are some that dodged taxes or did other serious crimes and are investigated without being detained, so why shouldn’t that be the case with me too, especially since I don’t have a prior criminal record? Is it because I’m related to Basescu? I know you won’t accept my request, but I want you to believe me I’m innocent. I know you won’t release me because the prosecutor probably doesn’t want to or because the elections are coming,” Anghel stated, being quoted by Mediafax.
