Prosecutor’s Office notified of conflict of interests in Mircea Diaconu’s case

The National Integrity Agency (ANI) called on the High Court’s Prosecutor’s Office to initiate an investigation into the case of Mircea Diaconu, senator and director at the “C.I. Nottara” Theatre, whom it accuses of abuse in office and conflict of interests for securing his wife’s hiring as a director within the theatre. ANI argues Diaconu’s wife was appointed artistic director although she did not meet the conditions, namely, minimum one-year experience in directing. In response, Mircea Diaconu argued, quoted by Mediafax, that this “daily whirlpool has taken us back to the 1950s, in terms of the methods and principles they rely on”, adding that his wife is an actress, not a seamstress.
