Truck driver responsible for Hungary traffic accident under arrest

Hungarian Police announced Monday evening that the Romanian truck driver who caused the deadly car crash in southern Hungary, which resulted in 14 passengers in a minibus being killed, was put under arrest, while in hospital with severe injures.

According to information yesterday, the driver had visited the Emergency Service of the Arad County hospital 36 hours before the accident, yet, he refused being admitted to hospital despite his suffering from enterocolitis. Mediafax quotes the hospital director as saying that doctors recommended that he rested and prescribed him an anti-vomiting medicine. Doctors say that both the disease and the medication could have made him sleepy.
