The president of the Dambovita County Council (CJ) is accusing the county councillors from USL of blocking the financing of the modernisation of the Targoviste Emergency Hospital by refusing to approve the investment. Meanwhile, USL representatives on the county councils said the County Hospital actually had a defective management of public funds. The PSD and PNL officials also added that they supported and would always support the European projects they had voted for. ‘In the county council, USL officials have demonstrated they back important projects that can be financed and which allow the County of Dambovita to achieve a fair level of development today and in the future’, PSD county councillor Leonardo Badea said, according to realitatea.net. PNL Dambovita president Gabriel Grozavu says there are ‘three CJ Dambovita decisions allocating EUR 1,500,000 or almost ROL 50 bln for the modernisation of the county hospital.’ In addition, they say they also wrote to the president of the Dambovita county council at the weekend to let him know of their intention to support the draft decision approving a loan to be taken from a local lender, initiated by him. While the two sides accuse each other, the doctors have to send sick children (even newborns – our note) to overcrowded hospitals in Moreni and Gaesti. ‘We are sending 0 – 3 year olds to the other hospitals in the county – Moreni, Gaesti and Pucioasa which are also overcrowded and who tell us <Stop sending them because we have no more free beds>’ says Dr. Carmen Marcu, Medical Director of Dambovita County Emergency Hospital.
