Emil Boc to attend CEI summit in Belgrade

Prime-minister Emil Boc will be in Belgrade today, attending the works of the Central European Initiative (CEI) summit, addressing among other topics the global economic crisis, a press release posted on the Government website reads. In this context, the Romanian Cabinet head will meet his Serbian counterpart Mirko Cvetkovic. The summit will close with the formal takeover of the CEI presidency by Ukraine. The Central European Initiative brings together 18 states, namely, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine. Romania joined CEI in 1996 and held the presidency two years ago.
