Occupy protesters clash with police in Oakland

Riot police have clashed with demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street group at one of America’s busiest ports, Oakland in California, the BBC said. Police fired tear gas as some of the protesters lit a fire and threw stones and bottles at officers. It followed a day of action against “corporate greed”, which saw a mass protest march in central Oakland and halted operations at the port. There were also demonstrations in other American cities.
