EUR 24 M in state aid for Delphi investment in Iasi

Delphi, an American company, has completed its investment in the Miroslava plant that produces components for diesel fuel injection systems. Premier Emil Boc, present yesterday in Iasi at the official ceremony, stated that the state aid that the government offered for this plant totals EUR 24 M, of which EUR 6 M have already been offered. “More than EUR 155 M were invested in this plant. We consider that Romania is a very attractive business environment for the production of high-tech components for the automotive industry,” John Fuerst, President of Delphi Diesel Systems, stated for Mediafax. The Miroslava plant started its production in 2009, back when it had only several hundred employees. The plant currently has 2,000 employees, most of them from Iasi.
