League I: Dinamo wins derby against CFR Cluj and remains leader

In the leg 13 derby, Dinamo won its away game against CFR Cluj, in front of 12,000 fans, and consolidated its position at the top of the League I rankings, gaining a 4-point lead over CFR Cluj. Danciulescu opened the score for Dinamo in the 21st minute, chalking up his 202nd goal in League I. CFR’s Cadu converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute and Ronny put Cluj ahead in the 46th minute. Dinamo’s Marius Niculae equalized in the 82nd minute, converting a penalty awarded after CFR’s Nuno Diogo brought Liviu Ganea down in the box. The same Marius Niculae, who is currently the League’s top goal-getter with a total of 12 goals, shook off Nuno Diogo and sealed the game in the 92nd minute. “We had a bit of luck, but luck is part of the game. I liked the fact that the team had character and believed in this victory until the last minute. And it did so against an opponent that could have won just as well,” Dinamo’s head coach Liviu Ciobotariu stated after the game.

CFR Cluj owner Arpad Paszkany attacked referee Alexandru Tudor, whom he accused of giving the game to Dinamo.

Here are other leg 13 results: CS Mioveni 1 – Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt 2; Vointa Sibiu 2 – FC Brasov 1; Astra 1 – Petrolul 1.
