Special dates allotted to commemorating victims of fascism and communism

President Traian Basescu signed on Monday the decree to promulgate the Law declaring August 23 the Commemorative Day of Victims of Fascism and Communism and December 21 the Remembrance Day for Victims of Communism in Romania, a release by the Presidency informs. The law was adopted a month ago by the Chamber of Deputies with 120 votes “in favour”, 94 “against” and eight blank votes, after passing through the Senate.
