Boxing Federation wins first trial against AIBA

The Romanian Boxing Federation (FRB) has won at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) its trial against the International Boxing Association (AIBA), a trial in which it attacked AIBA’s decision to temporarily suspend its membership in the world body, adevarul.ro informs. CAS decided that AIBA’s March 8 decision has no legal basis. Rudel Obreja stated that the FRB will also win the trial against AIBA’s decision to disaffiliate it. “We still have one trial against AIBA, but it’s clear that they no longer have a chance since we’ve won here. I’ll fight until the end in order to prove this was just revenge against me. I’ll fight to expose the corruption within AIBA,” Obreja said.
