Chess EC: Romania tops men’s rankings

The Romanian men’s chess team defeated Greece at the European Chess Championship in Porto Carras (Greece), score 2.5 – 1.5, and took the lead in the rankings with a total of 15.5 points, Agerpres informs. Romania is followed by Azerbaijan and Bulgaria with 15 points each. Romania’s points in the game against Greece were scored by Mircea Emilian Parligras (1 win) and Constantin Lupulescu, Levente Vajda and Mihail Marin (draws). The game counted for round 6. Romania will next play against Germany. The tournament consists of 38 teams, has 9 rounds and will end on November 11.
