Bucharest Opera launches smartphone application

The Bucharest National Opera (ONB) launches a smartphone application to mark its 90th anniversary. The application will allow smartphone users to visualise a 3D model of the ONB logo, while listening to an excerpt from one of the best-known opera arias – “Brindisi” from Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata”, based on the innovative Augmented Reality and QR Code technology. Those who purchase tickets from the ONB box-office will receive this application for free, while those who purchase them online from the www.operanb.ro or www.bilet.ro website will receive it at the entrance, on the gala night. The initiative of personalising an opera ticket using an application of this kind marks a premiere in Romania.
