Romania has 282 new citizens as of yesterday

Nearly 300 people took on Monday the oath of allegiance to Romania and received the Romanian citizenship certificate in two ceremonies organized by the National Citizenship Authority. The ceremonies were held at 8.30am and 11.30am. Under national legislation, Romanian citizenship is granted as of the moment the applicant takes the oath of allegiance. After taking the oath, the Romanian citizenship certificate is issued, a document which attests the applicant’s quality of Romanian citizen, without granting him/her the right to hold a passport or the right of free circulation.
