The uptrend in traditional life and home insurance underwritten policies boosted the dynamic of overall underwritten policies during January-September of this year, to over RON 6.1 bln (EUR 1.4 bln), according to Wall-Street.ro. After the first three quarters, the decline posted by the insurance market was of only 3.7 pc year-on-year. During the similar interval in 2010, underwritten policies were down more than 5 pc from the earlier-year period, according to the preliminary Jan-Sept data centralised by the Insurance Oversight Commission.
