Judo: Simionescu wins silver medal at U23 EC

Romanian athlete Vladut Simionescu (+100 kg category) won the silver medal on Sunday at the European U23 Championships in Tiumen, Russia. Russia’s Sergey Prokin defeated Simionescu in the final, through ippon. Simionescu had defeated Poland’s Mateusz Rudniki in the first round, Belgium’s Benjamin Harmegnies in the quarterfinals and Bulgaria’s Martin Marinkov in the semifinals.
