CFR Cluj won its home game against U Cluj on Saturday, in the leg 14 derby, score 3-1 (2-1 at half time), and remains on 2nd place in the League I rankings, 4 points behind League leader Dinamo Bucharest.
CFR’s goals were scored by Cadu (16th minute), Weldon (33rd minute) and Kapetanos (66th minute), while Tony scored for U Cluj (46th minute). There were 6,500 fans in the stands, 2,500 of them backing U Cluj.
In another leg 14 game, Dinamo Bucharest struggled against Vointa Sibiu at home but eventually won, score 1-0 (0-0 at half time). Danciulescu scored the game’s only goal in the 76th minute. Some of Dinamo’s fans chanted against the club’s leadership and business managers Ioan and Victor Becali, and in favor of Cornel Dinu. The two teams’ players wore a white arm band, in a sign of solidarity with the players that received no answers to the memos they had filed to the Professional Football League’s (LPF) Litigation Chamber.
Otelul Galati won its home game against Sportul Studentesc, score 1-0, and is back in the race for a place that would qualify it for the European Cups. In the second half, Argentina’s Vilianti brilliantly executed a free kick, the ball hitting the post and finding the net. This was Otelul’s fourth consecutive win in League I.
