The chairman of the Autonomous Direction for Nuclear Activities (RAAN), Adrian Olaru, announced yesterday his resignation from office, invoking personal reasons, Mediafax reports. Adrian Olaru stated he had forwarded the Minister of Economy and Commerce Ion Ariton his resignation from the office of RAAN chairman, adding he would no longer act in this capacity as of Monday. When asked about the activity he had conducted at RAAN, Olaru stated the direction had no unpaid debts. Until a new chairman is appointed, Constantin Bolocan, director of the Romag Prod Heavy Water Plant – a RAAN subsidy, will act as the interim chair.
