Deputies began yesterday to debate a simple motion tendered by the legislative groups of the Social-Democrat Party (PSD) and the National Liberal Party (PNL) against Democrat-Liberal Transport Minister Anca Boagiu. The document, suggestively entitled “Mrs. Minister Boagiu’s ribbons”, accuses the poor performance by successive Democrat-Liberal Transport ministers and demands explanations over contested tenders and the motorway shortage. According to Mediadax, the motion was read by National Liberal Party (PNL) Deputy Relu Fenechiu at the plenum session before 172 deputies. Minister Boagiu too attended the Chamber of Deputies session. The final vote on the document will be cast today. According to the Chamber of Deputies regulation, a simple motion is declared passed if voted by the majority of the attending deputies. There is however a slim chance for that to happen, given ruling coalition deputies hold the majority in the Lower House.
