December 22 becomes Romanian Revolution and Freedom Victory Day

The deputies adopted on Tuesday with 285 votes “in favour”, seven “against” and six blank votes a bill by which December 22 is declared the Romanian Revolution and Freedom Victory Day. The bill was initiated by the MPs of several parties, from both the opposition and the ruling coalition, and the Government backed it. The deputies approved, in the same session, with 285 votes “in favour”, three “against” and six blank votes, the bill by which March 9 is declared the Day of 1944-1989 anti-communist political prisoners.
