Corporate and personal deposits and loans on the decline

The bank deposits of companies and private individuals in October fell 0.8 pc from September, and up 6.3 pc year-on-year, to RON 179.6 bln, according to data released yesterday by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) data, Mediafax reports. In October of this year, company and personal deposits and loans dropped 0.1 pc against September, yet rose 13 pc year-on-year, to RON 119.3 bln, while hard placements shrank 1.9 pc from September and 4.9 pc compared to October of 2010, to RON 60.2 bln.

Separately, the loans taken out by companies and private individuals fell 0.2 pc in October, from September, but rose 6.9 pc year-on-year, to RON 221 bln. In October, RON loans were up 0.1 pc (0.6 pc in real terms) from September and 4.2 pc year-on-year to RON 80.7 bln, while the RON loans diminished 0.3 pc to RON 140.3 bln.
