President Basescu recalls six ambassadors

President Traian Basescu signed on Wednesday several decrees recalling six ambassadors to the country, including Sorin-Mihail Tanasescu, Romania’s ambassador to Tunisia, realitatea.net informs. According to the National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives (CNSAS), Sorin-Mihail Tanasescu signed a commitment to collaborate with the Securitate in 1987. The list also includes Emil Rapcea, who was appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in 2008; Niculaie Goia, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to UAE; Victor Mircea, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Algeria; Petru Petra, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam; and Adrian Macelaru, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Qatar.
