The “I.L. Caragiale” Bucharest National Theatre (TNB) has in store special plays starring celebrated actors. Tomorrow, November 30, at 7.30pm, at TNB’s Amfiteatru Hall, Eduardo de Filippo (author), Dinu Cernescu (director) and a wonderful cast will be guiding Romanian theatre-goers on their one hundredth visit to the Naples home in the comedy “Sambata, duminica, luni” (Saturday, Sunday, Monday).
On Friday, December 2, at 8pm, TNB’s Amfiteatru Hall will host the 150th presentation of “Noiembrie” (November) by Ana Maria Bamberger. The moving tale of a famous actress whose days of glory are long gone is brought to life by a brilliant cast, starring Olga Tudorache alongside George Motoi and Cecilia Barbora.
On Saturday, December 3, at 7.30pm, TNB’s Grand Hall will host the official premiere of Friedrich Durrenmatt “The Visit”, an exceptional adaptation of the great playwright’s work. Merging drama and dark comedy, “The Visit” is a play about guilt, revenge and sheer greed, starring first-rank actors of the Bucharest National Theatre Maia Morgenstern and Mircea Rusu, backed by an impressive production team whose members come from Bulgaria (Alexander Morfov – direction and Nikola Toromanov – stage setting), the United Kingdom (Chris Jaeger – lighting design) and Romania (Andrada Chiriac – costumes, Galina Bobeicu – choreography).
