Politehnica Timisoara FC owner gets 10-year prison sentence

The Bucharest Tribunal sentenced Marian Iancu, owner of Politehnica Timisoara Football Club to 10 years in prison in connection to the Rafo case file. His brother, Octavian Iancu, was handed a 9-year jail term, and Constantin Margarit will serve 8 years in prison. The ruling can be challengeable on appeal in the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Iancu was put on trial in 2006, along with eight more defendants, for tax evasion, criminal association and money laundering.
