Trade between Romania and the Republic of Kazakhstan has registered an oscillating evolution, reaching a high of USD 3.8 bln in 2008 and a value of USD 2.66 bln in the first nine months of this year, Radu Zaharia, general manager within the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment, stated at the Romania – Kazakhstan Business Forum organized by the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with ‘KAZINEX INVEST,’ Kazakhstan’s National Agency for Export and Investments. In his turn, Kairat A. Aman, the Kazakh Embassy’s charge d’affairs in Romania, underlined that he wants bilateral relations to be based not only on the oil and natural gas sectors, but also on sectors other than those concerning raw materials.
