Chauncey Hardy’s assaulter sent to Court

The Giurgiu Court’s Prosecutor’s Office sent Ionut Adrian Tanasoaia to Court. Tanasaoia is the man who punched American basketball player Chauncey Hardy in the face on the night of October 8, causing the athlete’s death. The prosecutors charge Tanasoaia, currently in preventive arrest, with causing injuries leading to one’s death, outrage and disturbing public order. The forensic report concluded that the victim suffered a violent death. The traumatic brain injuries which led to the Hardy’s death were caused by impact with a sharp object or surface in the same traumatic context and there is a direct and unconditional causal link between the traumatic craniocerebral injuries and the victim’s death. The scandal which led to Chauncey Hardy’s death broke out on the night of October 8 to 9, around 3.30am, in the Emotione Club in Giurgiu, allegedly after the American 23-year-old basketball player had tried to dance with some girls. He was punched in the chin by Ionut Adrian Tanasoaia and hit his head on the dancefloor.
