Badalan and Popescu, suspended jail sentence for abuse of office

Reserves general and Liberal-Democrat Deputy Eugen Badalan has been found guilty of corruption and handed a four year suspended prison sentence by the High Court of Cassation and Justice <Romania’s Supreme Court>. Mediafax reports that Mihai Popescu and four more defendants have also been given four year suspended jail terms. Reserves generals Eugen Badalan and Mihail Popescu are charged with incurring the Romanian state damages worth 1.2 M euro during their serving as heads of the Ground Force.
