Winter salons at “Orizont” Gallery and Sutu Palace

Two winter salons, collective exhibitions bringing together first-rank names of Romanian contemporary visual arts, as well as young fine arts students who are just starting out, are on at the “Orizont” Gallery and the Sutu Palace until the second half of next January.

The second edition of the Winter Salon at the “Orizont” Gallery, organized by the Romanian Visual Artists’ Union (UAP)’s “Arte Decorative-Bucuresti” section, tempts art-lovers with an exhibition including works from the fields of textile arts, ceramics, metal and glassware decorative objects signed by 60 visual artists from Bucharest and elsewhere.

Participating artists comprise UAP members, as well as young graduates or Master’s students from the National University of Fine Arts: Cela Neamtu, Marijana Bitulescu, Cristina Bolborea, Dan Roseanu, Lucian Butucariu, Ionel Cojocariu, Ilie Rusu, Mihai Topescu, and others. The exhibition is running until January 9, 2012.

The Sutu Palace (the Museum of the City of Bucharest) hosts, as well, a winter salon running until January 15: “The 2011-2012 Annual Visual Arts Salon”. The exhibition includes works of painting, sculpture, graphic art, decorative arts and design, signed by over 100 of the finest contemporary artists. The works on display illustrate a variety of themes, but have as a common denominator an innovative, visionary, approach.
