December 9 to 13, the hand-painted workshop at Maison de la Porcelaine (19, Dr. Staicovici) will host one of the finest events since the opening of the holiday shopping season: “Clever Hands”, a “melting-pot” event organized in collaboration with the “Wagner Arte Frumoase si Povesti” brand, tempting us with a host of wondrous holiday gifts. During the five days of “Clever Hands”, “Wagner Arte Frumoase si Povesti” has in store for us a special winter collection: “Winter Tales” – hand-painted porcelain bells and balls in winter shades, “Evening Jewellery” – rings, pendants and bracelets made of the finest china enriched with gold, pure platinum, semi-precious stones and crystals, “Tea Dreams” – china tea sets decorated using a mixed printing and hand-painting technique, “Wall Hangings” – porcelain objects decorated with hand-made motifs inspired from traditional folk art. Items from earlier collections will also be on offer, at special prices.
The Wagner porcelain decorative objects workshop lies in downtown Bucharest, close to the Romanian Opera. It is made up of five painter-decorators who bring to life the original models bearing Ana Wagner’s signature. The porcelain comes from France (Limoges), Germany or Romania. From Romania, the Wagner workshop purchases phosphate-rich porcelain, a fine, nearly transparent type of porcelain, akin to the so-called Bone China variety.
