Vasile Nicula (PSD) nominated Secretary of the Senate

PSD’s group within the Senate has nominated Vasile Nicula as Secretary of the Senate, the Senate set to vote on his bid on Thursday. The announcement was made yesterday by Senate Vice President Ioan Chelaru (PSD), who pointed out that PSD’s group within the Senate notified the Permanent Bureau against the backdrop in which this office should go to PSD during the current Parliamentary session. Democrat-Liberal sources quoted by Mediafax claim that PDL Senator Gheorghe David will give up his Secretary of Senate office by the end of the current session, Vasile Necula set to take his place. At the end of November the leaders of Parliamentary groups renegotiated the political configuration of the Senate’s Permanent Bureau since the difference between the ruling coalition and the Opposition stood at three offices within the Bureau following Mircea Geoana’s replacement with Vasile Blaga. Following the negotiations, the ruling coalition has 7 offices within the Permanent Bureau, while the Opposition has 6 offices. The Opposition will have two Vice Presidents, two Secretaries and two Quaestors.
