Ioan Niculae, questioned about the financing of political parties

Ioan Niculae, main shareholder of the INTERAGRO S.A. group, who is accused of complicity to aggravate forgery of private documents, was questioned yesterday, for one hour and a half, by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in a case about the financing of political parties. Upon leaving the DNA building, Niculae refused any dialogue with journalists.

The DNA announced that the leader of PSD Braila, Gheorghe Bunea, along with Ioan Niculae and INTERAGRO Manager Viorel Barac and Gheorghe Teodorescu of INSOMAR, are charged with infringing the laws that regulate the financing of political parties.

According to DNA, Mircea Geoana (PSD’s candidate in the presidential elections of 2009) is not a suspect in this case.
