Stela Popescu gets star on Romanian Walk of Fame

Comedian Stela Popescu, one of the legendary figures of Romanian theatre, will be awarded today a star on the Romanian Walk of Fame in recognition of her lifetime contribution to film and theatre. The actress turns 76 on December 21. For over half a century, Stela Popescu has been one of the most beloved actresses in Romania. One of the iconic figures of the Bucharest “Constantin Tanase” Revue Theatre, the public knows her best for the memorable sketches she has presented throughout the years alongside great names of Romanian comedy, the likes of Stefan Banica and Alexandru Arsinel. Stela Popescu received an honorary lifetime achievement award in the Romanian Comedy Festival – festCO 2011.
