PDL MEP Cristian Preda made another controversial statement on his blog, criticizing UDMR for being against modifying the Constitution, asking the Magyars whether they are still part of the ruling coalition or whether we now have a minority government and stating that if their answer is no they “should be sent home.” In reply, Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely stated yesterday that if Preda has something to say he should say it within PDL or within the ruling coalition, pointing out that the MEP did not understand what UDMR has to say about modifying the Constitution. In his turn, PDL First Vice-President Sorin Frunzaverde stated that it is not opportune for UDMR Ministers to leave. “We are in a coalition with UDMR. Along with UDMR we are part of the EPP group. I don’t believe the problem can be put in this way,” Frunzaverde stated for Mediafax.
