Lucian Anghel, Chief Economist of Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) has been proposed by the bank as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). Anghel has been with the BCR SINCE 1996, Mediafax reports. Also, the bank proposed Valerian Ionescu, head of the BCR Department for Transactions and Sales of financial instruments traded on the regulated market, as a member of the BVB Board.
Ionescu has been working at the BCR since 2007, having worked in various executive positions at the brokerage firm UniCredit CAIB Securities. The candidates for member of the BVB Board of Directors include Schroll Matjaz (representative of Franklin Templeton, administrator of Fondul Proprietatea), Adrian Lupsan (deputy general manager Confident Invest), Nicolae Ghergus (chairman of the Board of Directors and General director of Confident Invest) and Narcisa Oprea (a lawyer with Schoenherr and Associates). Oprea is a BVB shareholder. Also in the race for a seat on the BVB Board, Ioana Tanase,general director UniCredit CA-IB Securities, and Eugen Voicu, owner and chairman of the Board of Directors of Certinvest.
