PM’s father in hospital after stroke

Prime Minister Emil Boc’s father Ioan Boc, 87, was hospitalised at the Cluj Napoca Clinical Recovery Hospital after suffering a stroke, according to Mediafax. Ioan Boc had been hospitalised in severe condition earlier last week, but his condition improved toward the end of the week, according to the head of the hospital, Sanda Patrichi. After visiting his father on Saturday evening, the prime minister told reporters that his health condition was stable. “With hope and help from God and doctors, we hope we can make progress. We don’t expect miracles, but progress in little steps,” Emil Boc said.

Ioan Boc has suffered two other strokes in recent years. In November, he was also in hospital for several days with a lung ailment.
