The Romanian president Traian Basescu attended yesterday the National Association of Exporters and Importers in Romania (ANEIR)’s 2011 Jubilee Gala, an event organized in partnership with the National Bank of Romania, the Presidency announced by a press release. Central bank governor Mugur Isarescu also attended the meeting.
Romanian exports in the first 20 days of October 2011 rose by 36.9 pc as compared to the same interval of 2010, while imports rose by 20.3 pc, Mihai Ionescu, ANEIR secretary-general stated recently, quoted by realitatea.net. According to the latter, the opening of two export-promotion centres in the US, in Los Angeles and, respectively, New York, this summer was one of ANEIR’s and EximBank’s joint actions which could bring considerable profit to Romanian producers who wish to penetrate this market. Furthermore, the bases of the first private centre to promote economic ties between Romania and the African countries were laid recently in Dakar.
