Sile Camataru released on parole

Vasile Balint, a.k.a. Sile Camataru, sentenced to 13 years in prison for acts of violence, will be released on parole following the ruling pronounced yesterday by the Bucharest Court (TB). We remind our readers that the District 4 Court decided on November 24 to deny Sile Camataru’s petition for parole, but that decision was not final and was appealed against at TB. Ion Balint, a.k.a. Nutu Camataru, Vasile Balint’s brother was also let out on parole from the Jilava Prison on June 9, 2010. On the other hand, the Balint brothers are defendants in another criminal case, in which they have been sentenced to 13 years (Vasile) and, respectively, six years in prison, but the decision is not final and the high court is to resume debates on this case in January 2012.
