President Traian Basescu stated yesterday that he would be very happy if the problem of the energy market would be treated as a priority by the Competition Council (CC), Mediafax reports. While attending the ceremony for the appointment in office of CC’s new deputy chair and new advisor, Mircea Valentin, and, respectively, Gyerko Laszlo, the president argued that it was imperative to solve “the mysteries of this market, which has yet to work as it should” and which too many people thought they could keep in check.
President Basescu added he was well aware “there are many other topics on the Competition Council’s agenda” and wished the newly-appointed officials a successful time in office. After the closing of the ceremony, Basescu asked CC chairman Bogdan Chiritoiu what the topics on the agenda were, under the energy market.
